Played a cooperative RPG that my friend Myon runs over IRC over the weekend called Magic Door. In Magic Door all the players investigate new worlds, exploring for treasure, possible settlements by the Exploration Guild, and for keys to new worlds (which you use on the Magic Door to travel to).

There were five players this past game but I’m gonna concentrate on my character, Bisi

and my friend Bryn’s character, Chamti

(Bryn provided the gifs :P)

So Bisi has had one mission before, and the group is gearing up for a second one, but we have a new arrival. Everyone else in our group is pretty much a dick, and introduce themselves to Chamti by being ignorant and rude. Bisi however sees an immediate ally.

The first mission took us to an unknown world that was supposed to be safe. After a giant turtle led us across a river, a distant smoke pillar led us to a cave. Inside the cave was a frozen dragon with a magic sword stuck in his tail, sitting on a pile of treasure.

The smart thing to do would have been to leave it alone, but

Bisi and Chamti really like their shinies. You’ll note the difference in attitudes between the two while running from an awakening dragon:

Fortunately we made it back to the shrine safely so we could divvy up the loot.

A+ adventure. Would magic door again.

Progress on a Space Marine piece I’m making for my Deathwatch Apothecary I’m playing in a Deathwatch RPG game.

It’s my first real immersion in the 40k Universe. Its fun.

His name is Iman Ennulus, and he’s a part of the GM’s created chapter The Scions of Mars, which is a descendant chapter of the Iron Hands. Most of the art for Iron Hands tends to show off their significant cybernetics, but it doesn’t make much sense to me to not put your cybernetic body inside the super advanced ceramite power armor that Space Marines have, regardless of how much tougher it is than normal weak human flesh.

I learned while making this character that Space Marines can’t be women “just because.” Annoying, but whatever.
